Scope and Application
This Privacy Policy describes how CanadaDrugs SafeUse ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, safeguards, and retains personal information in connection with canadadrugs.su and related services (the "Services"). It applies to personal information handled in Canada and, where applicable, in other jurisdictions where our service providers operate.
We are committed to complying with applicable Canadian privacy laws, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where applicable, substantially similar provincial legislation such as British Columbias Personal Information Protection Act (BC PIPA). Content on our Services is provided for informational purposes only and does not replace professional medical advice.

- To provide, maintain, and improve the Services, including features such as drug profiles, disease overviews, dosage guidelines, and the pill identifier.
- To respond to your inquiries, provide customer support, and manage subscriptions or communications.
- To personalize content, remember preferences, and conduct research and analytics to improve usability and quality.

Consent and Your Choices
We collect, use, and disclose personal information with your knowledge and consent, except where otherwise permitted or required by law. Consent may be express or implied depending on the sensitivity of the information and your reasonable expectations.
- You may withdraw consent to non-essential data practices (e.g., certain cookies, marketing emails) at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice.
- You may unsubscribe from marketing emails by using the unsubscribe mechanism within the message or by contacting us at [email protected].
- Withdrawing or refusing consent may affect your ability to use some features.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to enable core site functions, remember preferences, and perform analytics. You can manage cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them. Essential cookies are necessary for the site to function and cannot be disabled via our systems. Non-essential cookies are used only with your consent where required by law.
Disclosure to Service Providers and Cross-Border Transfers
We may share personal information with trusted service providers who perform services on our behalf (e.g., hosting, security, analytics, email delivery) under agreements that limit use to specified purposes and require appropriate safeguards.
Personal information may be processed and stored in Canada and in other jurisdictions where our service providers operate. When information is transferred outside your province or Canada, it may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions. We implement contractual and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including when handled outside Canada.
Safeguards and Security Measures
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including access controls, encryption in transit where feasible, secure configurations, and staff confidentiality obligations.
While we strive to protect personal information, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If we determine that a breach of security safeguards has occurred and poses a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected individuals and report to the appropriate privacy commissioner(s) in accordance with applicable law.
Retention and Destruction
We retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the identified purposes, to meet legal or regulatory requirements, to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements. When personal information is no longer required, we securely delete, anonymize, or destroy it. For sensitive submissions to tools such as the pill identifier, we aim to retain data only for the short period necessary to provide the feature, troubleshoot, and ensure security.
Access, Correction, and Portability Requests
You have the right to request access to your personal information under our control, information about how it has been used and disclosed, and to request corrections where it is inaccurate or incomplete. Where feasible, and subject to legal limitations, we will provide a copy in a commonly used format.
We may require sufficient information to verify your identity before responding. We will respond within the timelines required by law. If we decline a request as permitted by law, we will provide reasons and information about how to challenge the decision.
Children and Minors
Our Services are intended for a general audience seeking informational health content and are not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate consent. If you are under the age of majority in your province or territory, you should use the Services only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian, and consent from such guardian may be required. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete it.
User-Generated Content and Pill Identifier Inputs
When you input text or upload images for tools such as the pill identifier, avoid including faces, personal identifiers, or other non-essential information. Such inputs may be considered sensitive and are used solely to operate the feature, ensure security, improve accuracy, and comply with legal obligations. We implement measures designed to minimize retention and to restrict access to authorized personnel.
Medical Information and Sensitive Data
We do not request your medical records. Any health-related information you enter on the Services is provided voluntarily for informational features. Because health-related information can be sensitive, we apply heightened safeguards and seek express consent where appropriate.
Electronic Communications and CASL Compliance
We comply with Canadas Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). We send commercial electronic messages only with your consent or as otherwise permitted by law, and each message includes identification information and an unsubscribe mechanism. You may withdraw consent at any time.
Analytics, Do Not Track, and Interest-Based Advertising
We use analytics to understand how the Services are used and to improve performance. Your browser may offer a Do Not Track signal; because there is no industry consensus on how to respond, we do not currently act on DNT signals. We do not engage in interest-based advertising on the Services. If this changes, we will update this Policy and obtain required consent.
Third-Party Sites and Services
The Services may reference third-party content or tools. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies when you leave our Services or interact with third-party features.
De-Identified and Aggregated Information
We may de-identify or aggregate information so that it no longer identifies an individual and use it for research, analytics, and service improvement. We will not attempt to re-identify de-identified data and will require our service providers to do the same.
Challenging Compliance and Complaints
You may contact our Privacy Officer to ask questions, submit requests, or file a complaint about our privacy practices. We will investigate and respond within a reasonable time. If your concern is not resolved, you may have the right to contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, where applicable, your provincial privacy commissioner (including the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia).
Jurisdiction-Specific Information
As we are located in British Columbia, we comply with BC PIPA where it applies, including breach notification and access/correction rights. Where federal PIPEDA applies, we comply with its breach reporting, record-keeping, consent, and safeguarding requirements. If you are located in Quebec, Alberta, or other provinces with substantially similar privacy legislation, we will address your rights under those regimes as applicable.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The Last Updated date below indicates the most recent changes. Continued use of the Services after an update signifies your acknowledgment of the revised Policy.
